A collection of weird, splatter nasty decks for Burger Skateboards

It was late 2019 when Nick texted me about drawing a logo and a couple of skateboard graphics, almost Christmas.The whole conversation was about a burger themed skateboard graphic collection, all I got was just a few visual examples of a couple of weird food illustrations I did back then.

Skateboard graphics, that sounded way over awesome. I’m in love with skateboarding since ‘02, still spending some afternoons pushing that piece of wood and trying to remember to turn my shoulder if I wanna land that bigspin heel. Anyway, we started the whole thing from this sketch, a weird burger with bugs on it.

Yeah it was just a burger full of worms, a turd, a bug, and a couple of other doodles. Then, we added the text instead of that burger at the bottom.

As you can see, I added some details and changed the burger at the bottom to a Burger Skateboard blocky text.

But let’s see the first sketches of the logo:

First off I thought about making it inside of a circle.- Might be easier to screenprint on the decks or just do pocket tees, back logo tees and whatever else. Also I liked the idea of fitting a burger into a circle. I just had to add the Burger Skateboards text into it, then i drew it on the bread.

Unfortunately I couldn’t find more sketches of the other deck designs, but I have some pics to share from the same collection.

The Hot Dog deck maybe was the nastiest. It’s this big monster deck swallowing a skateboarding hot dog with his mouth full of meat. Is that meat? It’s kinda brown. Very brown.

The Diner deck maybe is my favorite. There’s a big burger serving some dinner to a bunch of bugs waiting on the counter.
