Smelly Rob is an underground graphic novel about a colony of rats forced to abandon their natural habitat after humans invade their land.
Once living peacefully in nature — helping each other among dunes and grass — the rats see their world transformed as humans build houses, hotels, and resorts, turning it into a booming tourist paradise and driving them underground.
In the sewers, they rebuild a distorted reflection of human society, complete with power, corruption, and broken dreams. Here lives Rob, a young rat born by the seaside, who finds his own kind of freedom surfing through the filthy tunnels of the underground world.
Between rivalries, friendships, and rebellion, Smelly Rob becomes a raw and ironic reflection on capitalism, lost nature, and the struggle to reclaim one’s place in the world. Un tempo vivevano in armonia con la natura, aiutandosi a vicenda tra dune e radure. Ma quando l’uomo scopre la loro zona, decide di trasformarla in un luogo turistico: costruisce case, hotel, resort, e lentamente spazza via tutto ciò che era selvaggio.
Scacciati dalla loro terra, i topi si rifugiano nelle fogne. Lì ricreano, pezzo dopo pezzo, una società che imita quella umana — con i suoi sogni, le sue contraddizioni e la sua stessa corruzione.
È in questo mondo sotterraneo che vive Rob, un giovane topo cresciuto vicino alla spiaggia, che trova la propria libertà surfando tra i canali delle fogne.
